Roksolana & Valya are here!!

The girls have arrived!!!
We met them at the Minn/St. Paul airport at 3pm this afternoon.  It was a mix of emotions from excitement to nervousness.  I think the girls felt the same.  There was some confusion and it was difficult to know if we were supposed to be staying with the group or could just leave, if they had any bags or not.  They really did arrive with only the clothes they were wearing.  Some of the children were very exhausted and stressed.
With our girls, Valya seemed excited and happy but Roksolana had nervousness all over her face.  They were very friendly and we hugged right away.  After the long trip home, they seemed very excited once we got them showered up, clean clothes and some food in their tummies.  Then they seemed to relax and there were smiles all around.

Sophie (our little dog) and Makayla (our 18mo old) served as great ice breakers for the girls.  They could focus some energy and attention towards Sophie and Makayla and it didn't seem so awkward that we didn't know how to talk to eachother.

The girls and I played with Makayla while Randy went to pick up Jacob and Josie.  It was nice to have a little 'mom' time with them right away.  I felt like I had a few moments that I could really take care of them.  Something you could tell they were longing for.  After their showers, they even let me comb their hair for them.  I got to peek around for lice (none found, whew!) and it just gave me another moment to mother them.
When the kids came back it was a great meeting.  Jacob was very excited to use the ipad to translate everything.  Josie was a little more shy.  But as soon as we decided to teach them how to play UNO, everyone seemed relaxed.  What a fantastic first evening!!!

And I think they LOVE their beds and new room!
